A graduate of New York University and INSEAD, Jeremy founded MeepLabs, a software development company in New York. Jeremy is French-Swiss, speaks four languages, and is a big fan of Roger Federer.
Jeremy, welcome, we’re delighted to have you with us. What’s your story?
Thanks! I’m really excited to be joining the investment team at Promus Ventures. Although I grew up in France and Switzerland, I’ve spent the past couple of years living in Shanghai, New York, and most recently Singapore.
I have a BA degree in Economics and Mathematics from New York University (NYU) and I’ve just completed my Master in Management (MIM) at INSEAD.
I got the opportunity to spend my first year at NYU at their Shanghai campus to learn Mandarin and get some exposure to Chinese culture.
It was during a summer internship at Accenture Strategy in Amsterdam that I realized I wanted to work at the crossroads of strategy, technology, and entrepreneurship. I went on to co-found MeepLabs, a software development and creative agency in New York, working with aerospace, telecom, and health tech companies.
We acted as an incubator for early-stage tech startups, coached and helped them refine their business models, and provided them with the technical tools to move from apps or websites to more complex SaaS platforms. I managed software and UI/UX engineers to create the platforms our founders needed but also built relationships with investors, incubators, and business angels.
What did you enjoy most about your founder experience?
The diversity of projects was energizing and this background translates well to working with Promus Ventures’ myriad of deep tech investments and founders. I learned a lot about startups and what it takes to succeed in this complex ecosystem. I realized that I needed a more solid business foundation to run a business and have a greater impact on companies. And that’s why I went to business school and joined INSEAD’s MIM program, spending a year in France and Singapore.
I’m excited to be shifting to the investor side now and look forward to working closely with founders to help them build the companies of the future. To be successful, founders need resilience, vision, and passion, as well as an ability to think outside of the box and make the most out of every difficult situation.
It’s great to be joining Promus Ventures’ team and its long history of investing in deep-tech startups including space, robotics, AI/ML, health tech/bio, and fintech.
What else keeps you busy outside work?
During my free time, I like being with friends, traveling, and discovering new places. I enjoy running, boxing, and working out, as well as watching tennis (Federer fan here). I love planes and enjoy reading about the aviation industry.
