Promus Ventures Welcomes Stephane Blanc as Partner

We are excited to announce that Stephane Blanc has joined our Promus Ventures team as Partner.

Stephane brings a wide variety of operating experience in the tech industry to help our portfolio companies. He brings a unique understanding of supply chain while at Amazon, as well as deep relationships in the space industry working with geospatial data while at Spire Global. In addition, he has worked at other tech startup and large corporate roles. His experience pans strategic corporate development to sales, and has led numerous product lines and teams.

Tell us about your background

I’ve spent my career at the intersection of technology, growth, and execution. I have often joined companies at pivotal moments and helped these teams grow and develop..

I started in the early days of mobile and telecom, then moved into leadership roles across companies like Amazon and Centrica Hive, where I had the opportunity to build and scale businesses across multiple geographies. Along the way, I developed a deep appreciation for what it takes to bring complex technologies to market, often aligning product, commercial strategy, and teams around a clear path to growth.

Most recently, at Spire Maritime, I led global commercial efforts during a period of rapid expansion and transformation, working closely with leadership through scaling and post-acquisition integration. Across all these experiences, one constant has been my role as a partner to founders and executives, helping them navigate growth, make tough decisions, and build organizations that last.

As a past successful operator, what excites you about venture capital?

If I look back, the moments I’ve enjoyed most as an operator were always the ones closest to the beginning. It is at this point when everything is still to be built, and the right decisions can fundamentally shape the outcome.

Venture capital brings me back to that moment, but across many companies. It’s an opportunity to work alongside founders when the path isn’t fully defined yet. I love helping startups think through go-to-market strategy, refine their narrative, and avoid some of the pitfalls that only become visible once you’ve been through scaling yourself. What excites me is bringing an operator’s perspective to complement vision and ambition, and helping translate ideas into execution.

Why are you excited to join Promus Ventures?

What drew me to Promus Ventures is the clarity of its vision and the ambition of the founders it backs. The firm has a strong portfolio of frontier technologies that are complex, technical, and often misunderstood early on. That resonates deeply with my own experience working in deep tech and data-driven businesses.

Just as importantly, Promus Ventures has a culture of true partnership with founders. For over 15 years, the firm has engaged deeply with companies over time, especially when things are hard or uncertain. Joining Promus Ventures felt like a natural next step: taking everything I’ve learned as an operator and applying it earlier in the journey, alongside founders who are building the next generation of transformative companies.

What do you do in your free time?

I've always found it hard to completely disconnect from building and ideas. In my free time, I tend to gravitate toward early-stage companies, mentoring founders and exchanging perspectives with people who are creating something new.

Outside of that, I enjoy spending time with my family and staying active. I love traveling, and visit Paris and London often for concerts and exhibitions. I love Champagne tasting in Epernay. And I never forget my hometown, Bordeaux, where I enjoy running along the river Garonne whenever I can.
